If you have been looking at this blog you will have noticed that I (Bob) like to look after my body, my brain and my skin. I have suffered from hormonal acne and stress related acne for years now and have tried almost everything to help. Cleansers, Toners, Prescribed skin care (trust me do not go down that route!) Pills, Diet and Supplements to no avail. Then I heard about this ‘miracle’ product – Skinclear Elixir by Botanical and had to give it a go.
SkinClear Elixir is a 100% Plant Based Supplement (completely vegan!) Which according to magazines, newspapers and reviews is the ‘perfect cure’ for acne sufferers.
The supplement itself works in a 2 step process.
Step 1 – Get rid of the access oils in the skin
Step 2 – Balancing Hormones
This all sounded perfect, so I bought three bottles containing one month supply in each. As I have always been told it takes approximately 2 months to see if a medication is effective and it states as much on the website.
So I ordered – 1 bottle retails at £25 which is fairly expensive but if it works then it’s worth it!
The first order went missing, I had to contact the company who were very apologetic and really nice! They ended up resending it, a month later the second shipment turned up.
The Pills are easy to swallow, don’t leave a bad taste and come in a clearly marked and instructed bottle. Take 2 Capsules a day with water and then let the magic work.
A couple of weeks into the new routine my skin was really dry and I seemed to have even more breakouts than normal. I thought maybe this was the purging stage so continued.
A month in my skin was still breaking out, my skin was less dry but I was now concerned with the amount of little red pimples I was breaking out with.
2 Months in, I noticed my skin was having good stages and then bad stages but that was no different than before taking this supplement.
3 Months in, I came to the conclusion that the supplement does absolutely nothing good! For a short period of time my skin was worse than usual and then my skin maintained the same levels. My skin showed no sign of improvement – if anything it was worse and the supplements were too expensive to continue.
So the miracle cure is not a cure for all people and certainly is not what it is being reviewed as – at least not for me.
The company itself is great! The customer service was amazing its just a shame about the price and the lack of results.

Awsome blog this really helped make my mind up with these supplements. I’ve been taking them for 3 months. The first month my skin became less only and my skin cleared up. I was so happy. But now on the 3rd bottle my skin is getting really bad. I have spots on my cheeks and back where I didn’t have before. And they take ages to heal. Im also constantly peeing. The positive is I feel like my hair is in better condition but cannot be certain it’s because of the supplements. I’ve decided not to carry on. I think I will stop it now maybe my body has got used to it so it doesn’t work I just don’t know

Honestly I think the supplements work for some but have the negative effects for others. Its probably best to invest in some skincare routine – this is how I have fixed my issues. I normally try and work with Rice – so rice cleanser/toner and then rice serums and moisturizers. I now only have the occasional breakout and hardly any redness. Hope that helps 🙂 ‘I’m From’ Rice routine – is the brand I use.
