Coff-Coff-Coffee

It’s actually bean a while since we posted a Coffee shop Review, so here is what we have found on our travels around the Capital over the last few weeks. We have mostly been sticking to what we know and love but there have been a few exceptions

‘Bean’, did you get it?!

Black Sheep Highbury

It seems Black Sheep has become a thing, it used to just be a little shop in King’s Cross but now they are popping up everywhere. This one is just next to Highbury & Islington station in a shop that was always there – apparently it was an estate agents (who knew)!

So, on a nice day we popped in for an Iced Coffee (the usual Americano and Mocha) and asked for the large and wow that’s a large coffee! It was over £9 but it was huge. And as for taste, it was pretty good, better in fact than the King’s Cross branch and the St. Paul’s Cathedral kiosk!

V&A Coffee Bar

While at the Korea Wave Exhibition we stopped off for a rest bite at the Café and sat in the garden.

The outdoor bar is a little temporary, but at least the seating area is nice!

As for the coffee itself, it was OK, nothing spectacular, but ok!

Tate Britain Cafe

It seems we are all museums and galleries this time around, but we found ourselves in Pimlico the other day and there are NO Coffee Shops in Pimlico, we mean – there is a Costa machine and a mini Pret but THAT IS IT!!

So it was the Tate or nothing. After a wonder of the modern art and the Turner Exhibits, we headed down to the basement and the chaotic Cafeteria, where it was all soups and tarts on the menus and the queue was filled with retired civil servants reading their subscription to the Old Vic or the National Trust and tying up the line. The usual order (hot this time) and a seat on the grass outside, was ok, if a little crowded by security guards watching us!

The coffee was tiny, tiny, about the same size as a sachet of sugar, but (almost annoyingly!) it was pretty good, the Mocha was chocolaty and the Americano strong, but not sour. Shame about the size.

The Roasting Plant

I (Bob) have been visiting this place alone the past few weeks – It was one that I had walked past a few times and vowed to try it! So I did! There are so many different options almost too many. But so far I have tried 3 different beans and look forward to trying even more. The baristas are always helpful and The coffees are large! What more can you ask for? The only drawback is the wait – after choosing and paying there is a fair amount of time waiting around whilst the staff seemingly hang around and watch the coffee drip.

Well theres a few more for the ever growing list/map – So remember if you need a coffee in London and aren’t sure where to go go check it out and hopefully we can point you in the right direction.
