When we started Climbing-Moss we used to review all the Award Ceremony Arrivals, but over time and that is nearly ten years now! We have dropped the look at most, but there is one Red Carpet we have continued to look out for and share our likes and dislikes with you and it’s that time again, yes it’s the 1st Monday in May and The Met Gala, the greatest Fashion Show of them all!!
The theme of the Fashion related exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art this year is ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion‘, where examines how technology can breathe new life into garments that are too old and fragile to be worn again.
On the first Monday in May guests climbed the museum’s landmark steps wearing looks that fit this year’s dress code “The Garden of Time”. Well that’s the official word, some however just turned up in the same Tuxedo as they wear to every event and others wore questionable outfits that didn’t even come close, but some, some went all out and understood the brief. Here is what we saw, what we loved and what we hated.
Loved
In this slide show :
Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe were the best dressed couple.
Elle Fanning really needs to add some color or black to her wardrobe.
The last two – what’s with the shoes? Apart from that the outfits are ok.
Oh Dear Lord/ WTF?!
Why?
Bob- Just a note – Stray Kids should have been on the Loved (duh!)
The controversial and shocking news of this year’s event was not someone’s OTT costume or someone sulking rant because they didn’t get an invite! But the disgusting and embarrassing commentary of the Photographers in the press pen. These events often have some of the world’s best Fashion Photographers in the Press area, but also is filled with Paparazzi scum, ‘Stringers’ (freelance paps), who are usually found loitering outside a club at 3am waiting for a C-list Celeb to stumble out drunk to get an up-skirt shot! Unfortunately a few of these idiots were behind the red cordon, being as abusive to a few of the guests at the world’s most prestigious event, they catcalled and heckled Stray Kids and Jennie Kim like a bunch of street thugs on a Friday in Dalston, thankfully a video camera caught their racist bile and we got the news yesterday that the 3 main culprits have been named and shamed, fired from the magazines and papers they were Accredited to on the night and banned from submitting images to the major agencies immediately.
