Coffee Time

We are out and about once again this time all over the place with the coffee reviews finding new places and new flavours from around the city.

Cafe de Nata – Soho

We got two Oat Mochas and Ash got a Vegan Custard Tart – the food was delicious! However 5 minutes later a lactose crampy stomach began so we are not sure what was in that tart but it is a shame. The Coffee was ok but not really chocolaty at all until you stirred it or in our case drank most of it and found the solidified chocolate all at the bottom of the cup.

Cafe by Sabel -Abney Cemetery

Bob was waiting around the area and needed a Coffee – there is a new small Coffee shop in Abney Cemetery, seemingly a place for meetings and working on your laptop for the afternoon. The staff were nice but the coffee was exceptionally small, hot and quite sour! So not really worth it.

Golden Tea – Camden Market

We didn’t really fancy Bubble tea when we visited Camden for the Chinese New Year Celebrations – the staff were also inept whilst standing in the queue they got every single order wrong. Instead we played it safe and ordered two Oat Mochas. We waited for ages!!!! The buzzer they gave us didn’t go off, it was by chance we saw the order on the counter and went in. The coffee was very expensive, pretty small, cold over all it wasn’t worth the price or the wait.

Brags & Brams – Newington Green

This venue seemingly changes every 6 Months – this variation is bright, clean and white – which stands out from the surrounding brickwork and black wood. It caught our eyes so we decided why not?!

There is plenty of staff, lots of seating and tables which makes sense with how busy it was on a Monday lunchtime – we ordered the usual Oat Mochas and waited. The coffee took ages to make but came in funky tall cups doubled up so the drinks didn’t burn our fingers – the Coffees were pretty good!

Paris Baguette – Jubilee Place Canary Wharf

Underneath the Little Park at Canary Wharf while searching for the random Lights in the Winter Lights we found this Paris Baguette. We lived off the breads and pastries in Korea and so we saw this and headed for it to get a coffee.

We ordered 2 Oat Mochas and then had to take out a loan to pay for them £11.30 HOW MUCH??!! It took ages, it was a vending machine coffee, the barista didn’t do more than put the cup in the machine and press a button!

But the cup was huge, the coffee was pretty good – but what was with the price?

So that was a summary of the past couple of Coffee shops we have visited – have you got any recommendations?
