Revamping Our Social Media Strategy: Embracing TikTok

Over the last few weeks we (mostly Bob!) have been revamping the site and upping the SEO’s etc, we have also been plugging away at the Social Media.

We have had Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for the whole time we have run the blog, but over time they have faded away. Who uses Twitter its a waste of time as X, Facebook is literally just for the links and Instagram though it still exists tends to be more adverts than content. But we are still posting the thumbnail on the profile every week. We also have Pinterest and have recently been trying to revamp the account, with new Collages and posting every picture we have on here in one folder or another, so please go check that out for visual reminders of everything that is Climbing-moss!

But we were missing one key Social Media Site (from the thumbnail you will have guessed it), TikTok, the video based site has been absent from our social links, but last week we started an account and have started posting daily videos, trying to draw the TikTok audience over to this side of the Internet, now we are tryin to get you to go over there.

Tiktok is great! The best current Social Media App -In Our Opinion- more people search on TikTok than Google, more people spend their commutes doom scrolling the videos and more people buy off The Shop than, QVC, Temu and AliExpress. The site has good guidelines, it had safety protocols in place for under 16’s well before the ‘stupid’ media ban recently imposed (we differ on that, so we won’t go into that!)

So, it was lax of us to not be on there, but what will you find if you go and search climbing.moss.blog? Well it’s only been a week and so, it’s a little early to say, but best getting in while it’s still new. We have a few Carousel posts, videos of Dog Walks, our favourite Coffee Shop and ‘Day in the life vids’ set to the trending sounds of the App.

The Algorithm is set to try to get the right people to see the right posts and so, sometimes creators only get 200 views on videos, but given our numbers so far, we have dialed in on our niche and have been clocking up 800-1000 views daily. But these numbers aren’t all that matter, it looks good, but what is best is conversion rates, that is click throughs, the number of people clicking into the app from the blog or onto the Blog from the App and with a new account we aren’t seeing that yet, but time will tell and if you are a TikTok account Holder or a Content Creator yourself, following the account and clicking on the links back to the posts on here will finally help Climbing-Moss to grow.
