So, once again, we are back with another coffee post. This time, we have been all around London drinking Coffee, mochas, and Iced Americanos.
Organico – Broadway Market – E8
Although you could easily walk past this shop being as it looks more like a small grocer’s and not a coffee shop, we were glad we saw a small queue outside. They have a selection of pastries and rolls with multiple options in the shop window too. So we popped in and ordered the usual Soya Mochas and a vegan mushroom/nut roast pastry.
There is a large selection of fruits and veg as well as household staples and organic produce, not to mention the eco-friendly Cleaning products, Oils, Health and beauty and snacks. The Coffee took a long time to make, so we had to hang around for a bit. When we were handed the food and drink, we took them round the corner to sit beside the canal.
Hungry Bikes – Essex Road – N1
This parade of shops seems to change on a monthly basis but Hungry Bikes seems to have been around for a couple of months now, surprisingly. We noticed that it sold coffee as well as servicing bikes, so we decided to give it a go.
This shop was pretty strange, there seemed to be many people just standing around – not sure if they were staff or just random members of the public. Whilst waiting for the drinks (which was a long time), we looked around at the random handlebars, frames and pedals. There was also a wine bar, liquor bar, food and a small seating area. Although we have put this shop in a coffee review, we still are unsure what it is? The coffees themselves were ok – but not worth going back for.
Chief Coffee – Turnham Green – W4
This coffee shop/arcade parlour is nestled in a side alley off Turnham Green Terrace. We happened to spot it and went in for a look.
We only stayed on the middle level and didn’t head down to the Pinball arcade or up to the Japanese arcade, so we can’t comment on them – however, the middle section/coffee shop was minimalist with light wooden chairs/tables.
We ordered the usual – Soya Mochas – one of us got a special heart foam art and a wink from the barista. Whilst we drank, we saw what plushies and cute little figures we could see (spot Yoda above). The drinks were pretty small, so we finished quickly, we may revisit to see the arcade next time we are in the area.
Brera – Cabot Square – E14
Whilst hiding from the rain around Canary Wharf, we decided to get a Coffee. We looked for ages but eventually saw the bold colors of Brera and decided to grab one there.
The shop looks more like something you would find on holiday in Italy with the decor and color scheme. We got our our usual – they got it wrong a few times but eventually handed us our Lattes and added chocolate to make it into a Mocha. All in all it still tasted like Lattes.
Raoul’s Deli – Maida Vale – W9
We went a long way in search of a Coffee shop that looked half decent that wasn’t a Costa or another chain. This was the only one that seemed to have vegan milk options, so we decided to go here.
The Coffees were actually really good! In fact, so good we would actually detour again just to go here.
Camia – Church Street – N16
We were looking around Stoke Newington the other day to see if we could go somewhere new – as we seem to have gone everywhere by now. We found Camia and took a seat – we ordered the usual 2 Mochas and a spinach pastry and sat in the back.
The Spinach pastry was delicious and the coffee wasn’t bad either, it’s just that there wasn’t enough of it – the cups were really shallow. People only seem to want to sample coffee instead of drink it by the bucket – call us crazy but we seem to be different.
The Fields Beneath – Kentish Town – NW5
Sat right beneath the Silverlink Station – Kentish Town West – there is this small shop. It’s fully vegan and ethically sourced. They had a huge selection of Wines and even plants for sale, but we settled for 2 Iced Vegan Mochas.
The drinks were very average – could have been a Latte instead of Mochas – however the staff was really nice so we would probably return to sample the food.
