We have shared our adventures of Seoul last time and we hinted at the food we tried, in this post we are going to tell you all the food and drink we tried and found in the City.
Delhi India – Dongmak-ro 9-gil, 8 2층
On our first night we arrived too late for most restaurants – so we looked around the local area and found Delhi India. The reviews were pretty good and it was close by so we thought why not!?
The Staff were really nice, the decor was also very eclectic – we really liked the individual candle lit heated serving bowls.
The food as nice as it was presented was really oily and very greasy – it repeated all the way through the night and we ended up with stomach ache the next day.
Art Monster – Craft Beer
We went to Artmonster a couple of times during our stay in Seoul – the first night we had Genesis (Blueberry Sour) and Over the Top (IPA) both the beers were ok but nothing amazing – The IPA was really fizzy and the Sour was too sweet to be considered a sour.
Day 1 – We went to Coex Mall
Plantude
Whist in the mall after visiting the Aquarium we avoided the Sashimi places (still weird) and instead headed for Plantude – which was incredibly busy and clearly the prime location for lady dates. The staff were a bit rushed off their feet mostly because the Boss seemed to be on the case. The food was really good! though the table was a bit small for all the dishes.
We ordered Mushroom Pasta, 2 Tomato soft stew, Korean Mixed rice with tofu and we got some free side dishes and finally a Vegan place that sold alcoholic beer! We did feel a bit rushed due to the queue outside that seemed to get bigger every time we looked up with hungry eyes judging what dish to get.
When we got back to Hongdae we wandered in to the
Whale Pub
It took ages to get served and the beer wasn’t all that great.
Day 2 Myeongdong
Tent City
We went all along Pojangmacha Street lead by our friend (A Local) and sat at one of the tables at the one sat at 10.12.4 – we ordered Tteokbokki and Kimchi Jeon. Both of which were yummy and we got some beers and Soju’s for the table.
Then we headed to
The Who Music Bar
Day 3 The Palaces.
After a long day walking around the Palaces and rushing back to the Hanbok shop we went of searching for another Vegan Restaurant in the local area.
This is where we found Osegye Hyang – where we sat at a longish table and ordered Vegan Sweet and Sour Chicken, Grilled Protein Stew and Mandu (Dumplings) with free Banchan. This was one of the alcohol free places but had 5 TV’s all playing the Supreme Master TV channel – preaching veganism, heaven and godspeed – it was very disconcerting.
The food was pretty good but the TV’s were strange and off putting.
Day 4 KPop Playground
After spending the whole day watching people dance we felt rather hungry so we started wandering north – searching for the highly rated Drunken Vegan. The place was very small – 3 tables inside and one outside, but it was the wall of Dildo’s and sex toys in all shapes and sizes (literally) that made us double take.
We sat down and ordered, Vegan fish and chips, Lasagne and two beers – all of which were really really good!
The Bar Upstairs
We can’t remember the name but it was good! We got nachos and Soju and Beer.
Day 5 N Seoul Tower
This is one of those restaurants we will never forget! Serving both meat chicken and vegan chicken this was a good place for both of us. We got them to take away and made our way to N Seoul Tower to eat picnic style.
It was a bit of a journey from one place to the other (the smell was driving us crazy) but it was certainly worth it.
Day 6 Concert
After another late finish we had the same issue with all the restaurants long ago closed so we headed back to Red Road to
Tera Gimbap – Open 24 Hours for reference.
We wished we would have found this place earlier there was so many options! We got Cheese Kimbap, Vegetarian Bibimbap and Tteokbokki – all of which was really really good!
Day 7 Last full day
We found this swanky restaurant on the last day and surprisingly got Pasta Arrabiata and Seafood pasta – both were really good. They did serve bacon on top of the Arrabiata but after explaining to the waiter they brought another one without and made it extra spicy for me.

Day 8
Shake Shack – Incheon Airport
Sadly our time in Korea had ended but before we left we got a burger and fries.
Honorable mentions
Starbucks
The best cake I have ever bought!!!!!! So chocolaty and omg yum!
Well that was a lot of places and food, next time we will run through the coffees we found! So come back then for that and then we are off to Japan!
