Since coming back from holiday we have been to a number of new Coffee shops around London. Here is what we have found…..
Sourdough Sophia – Essex Road

We went to Sourdough Sophia the week after it opened replacing Costa Coffee. Obviously we knew it was going to be trendy – Sourdough is artisan afterall. So we bought 2 Oat milk Mochas coming to £9! The coffees were meh at best – cold frothy milkyness but no chocolate and no coffee in sight – you may as well as drink cardboard. We glanced at the bread saw a 90g loaf for £11 and walked out.
Arancino of Sicily – Shaftesbury Ave
This place has recently opened up and we thought we would give it a go. The Coffee was not too bad very sour – so we needed a couple of sugars each even then it wasn’t outstanding. The Arancini Ball was a little odd in Bob’s opinion – we opted for the Vegan Mozzarella & Spinach – Ash liked it but Bob found the cheese to taste like what she imagines feet to taste like.
When we were walking the Dog the other day we ended up in Queens Wood and in dire need of coffee!
The Coffee was ok but not great – we ordered 2 Iced Vegan Mochas but got tepid flat whites/Cappuccino after a very long wait. The single member of staff seemed overwhelmed by having more than 3 people in the shop then was baffled by the words Iced. All in all it took him over 10 minutes to make a drink – instead of the usual clear cups with straws we were presented with two cardboard cups. We drank our drinks whilst walking around the woods.
Mochapot – Essex Road
We were walking around in N1 and decided to take a chance with the newly opened – Mochapot the other day. We went with Bruffin and got 3 Oat Milk Mochas. Oh my god they were so sour!
We added 3 sugars to each tiny cup and still it was horrible but we were very thirsty! Plus they came to 15 pound. All of the drinks, despite being the same – all arrived different times, colors, consistencies, quantities and one seemed to be curdling
Compose Coffee in London – Whitcomb St
We saw on social media the other day that Compose Coffee had opened in London and were thrilled! Since having coffee at Compose but in Korea we jumped at the chance to have another taste. We knew it was a good idea as soon as we stepped through the door and heard Nmixx and then Stray Kids followed by Aespa. In Korea we celebrated being able to drink things without having to do alternative milks but we didn’t take the chance this time. We vowed to go back to try the Bingsu or Cake. We got an Iced Cafe Mocha and a Brown Sugar Latte – The Coffees were good! Really good!
Wheelcake Island – Seven Dials
In the enclosed area of Seven Dials – Down Cucumber alley there is a selection of drinking shops and this is where we happened upon Wheelhouse. They sold Milk tea so we thought why not!
The staff were very rude and offish! Taking our order with much disdain and then almost throwing the cups in our faces when they were served. The drinks were not too bad but not amazing!
Floozie – Covent Garden

We saw Floozie’s on TikTok a new shop in Covent Garden that sold fully vegan milkshakes and cookies. There was a vast selection of options for flavors and toppings which was quite daunting at first. We muddled our way through and ordered a Vanilla base with three toppings and Chocolate base with two toppings.
The drinks were ok in the end – not great and we are not sure what wasn’t vegan but we both ended up with tummy aches plus it was most definitely not worth 15 pounds!! The Cups were pretty small and stingy plus both tasted pretty much the same.
Well there you go, a much needed update of London Coffee, next week we will return to Korea for the next stage of our holiday.
